Poco is currently said to be working on a new C-series smartphone. It is likely to be the successor to the Poco C51 that was launched in April last year. Because, a phone with the name Poco C61 was spotted on the list of Google Play-supported devices last week. And now, it has appeared on the Google Play Console listing, revealing the front panel design as well as some key features.
Poco C61 appeared on the Google Play Console platform
Poco C61 phone with model number 2312BPC51H is listed in Google Play Console database. The renders published there showed the smartphone with a punch-hole cutout and a screen surrounded by slim bezels. The power and volume rocker buttons are positioned on the right. Besides, the listing mentions that the device will have a display resolution of 720 x 1,650 pixels and a screen density of 320 dpi.
In terms of hardware, the Google Play console reveals that the processor used in the Poco C61 is codenamed MediaTek MT6765X. It is composed of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and another four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz. This core configuration suggests that the chipset will actually be the MediaTek Helio G36. The smartphone is said to offer 4GB of RAM and run on Android 14 operating system.
Apart from these, no other information about Poco C61 is known yet. The device has already received approval from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (Bluetooth SIG) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification site. Speculations are rife that the Poco C61 is likely to be a rebadged version of the budget range Redmi A3 that was launched in India last month. This is not surprising, as Poco’s C-series phones are often rebranded Redmi handsets. The Redmi A3 handset is powered by the same processor as the C61. However, some minor differences can be seen between the two phones.
