A new Poco phone appeared in the IMEI database earlier this month. The device bearing the model number 2412DPC0AG is believed to be the upcoming Poco F7. Initially, a section of the tech community was skeptical about this listing. Since the Poco F6 series was launched just three months ago, in May. So it was expected that its successor, the Poco F7 series would be launched around the same time next year, probably in the second quarter of next year. But now it looks like Poco is accelerating their F-series release cycle this year. After the IMEI listing, the upcoming Poco F7 has now appeared on the EEC certification site with the same model number.
The Poco F7 phone was spotted on the EEC certification platform
Although the EEC certification did not provide specifics about the phone's hardware or features, it raised the possibility that the Poco F7 could launch earlier than expected. Going by past trends, the Poco F6 received EEC certification in January this year and was officially unveiled in May. If Poco follows a similar strategy for the Poco F7, the new series could debut in December.
Presumably, the phone's model number “2412” already indicates this schedule – “24” for the year and “12” for the month. However, it is important to note here that this is still just a guess and Poco has not confirmed any of it. But in the global market, the Poco F7 is expected to be a rebrand of the Redmi Turbo 4. The Poco F7 Pro, on the other hand, could be a rebranded version of the Redmi K80 phone.
The Redmi K80 series is rumored to be launched in China this November, so the Poco F7 series is very likely to launch in December. Granted, Xiaomi usually takes some time to introduce its China-exclusive phones to the global market. Although the company was expected to continue this pattern, it is expected to change strategy this year.
