Redmi is currently said to be working on its upcoming Redmi K80 series of premium smartphones. Which is going to come in the market as the successor of the Redmi K70 lineup. And now a new report claims that the Redmi K80 is being worked on at a very fast pace and could make its way to China soon. It is also heard that the company is going to change its strategy with this lineup.
A well-known tipster has shared information about the arrival of the Redmi K80 on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). The tipster claims that the company is fast-tracking the Redmi K80 series. Xiaomi has decided to change their business strategy when it comes to the Redmi K80 lineup. Reports suggest that Xiaomi will now focus only on flagship grade models and not affordable mid-range options.
In other words, the Redmi K80E model might be dropped from the K80 series. That is, only the base K80 and K80 Pro will be launched in China. However, the tipster did not mention the high-end Pro model in his online post. Most notably, however, the tipster believes that the “E”-branded model may move to another lineup entirely, most likely the Note series. If the information is true, then Redmi might announce a Redmi Note 14E variant.
However, the tipster has not shared more information about the Redmi K80 series. But last week, another Weibo tipster claimed that the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro could run on the next-generation Snapdragon processor. Whether this is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 series chip or the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, is still unclear. Because the smartphones are expected to be launched later this year. And Qualcomm usually launches flagship processors towards the end of the year.
