The popular smartphone brand OnePlus usually launches its number series flagship phone at the end of the year. For example, in December last year, the current generation OnePlus 12 phone debuted in the Chinese market. Later it entered the Indian market at the end of last January. Almost 6 months have passed since the launch of the phone and already speculations have started in the tech world about its successor OnePlus 13 handset. A reputed tipster has now claimed that OnePlus will mainly focus on improving performance, battery life and camera for their next flagship. Let's find out what the OnePlus 13 has to offer.
The OnePlus 13 is set to hit the market with upgrades in multiple categories
Tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) in its recent Weibo (Chinese micro-blogging site) post said that the OnePlus 13 could be one of the first smartphones to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. While the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to be the first to debut with this new chipset, the OnePlus 13 could hit the market soon after.
The OnePlus 13 phone is also said to support a new single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and advanced silicon anode battery technology. DCS has indicated that the battery will be “huge capacity”, so expect it to be bigger than the OnePlus 12 phone. The OnePlus 13 handset will come with a larger display, likely featuring a 6.8-inch slightly curved 2K LTPO OLED panel.
The camera system of the OnePlus 13 model is also expected to get an upgrade. Although not specified, DCS mentions that it will have a triple-camera setup with an improved periscope lens. Also, in response to a Weibo user's comment about the IP68 rating for the phone, the tipster noted that although it has not been confirmed, the device has been tested for water resistance.
Notably, apart from the OnePlus 13, it is rumored that OnePlus may launch another flagship phone in the Chinese market this year, which is called the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. It is rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and will compete against peer devices like the Realme GT 6 and the upcoming Redmi K70 Ultra. OnePlus 13 and OnePlus Ace 3 Pro are still a few months away from the market. So gradually more information about these devices will be released in coming days.
