Honor recently announced that they will be launching the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro smartphones in China on May 27. While the brand has revealed the design of both the smartphones to attract buyers ahead of the launch, it has not revealed anything about their specifications yet. But a Chinese tipster has now revealed the name of the chipset used in both the standard and Pro models of the Honor 200 series. Let's find out about it.
The Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro handsets' chipset names have been revealed
An earlier report claimed that the Honor 200 model will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 processor, while the Pro model will actually have a Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chip. Disproving the previous report, the new source has revealed that the standard Honor 200 phone will have an improved version of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. Currently, Qualcomm's third-generation Snapdragon 7 series consists of two models, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and the more powerful Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3. However, it is not clear how the improved version of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset will differ from the existing models.
On the other hand, the Honor 200 Pro model will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Please note that the current generation Honor 100 and Honor 100 Pro, which were launched last November, have Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets respectively.
Recent reports claim that the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro models will feature a massive 5,200mAh battery with 100W fast charging. Both the phones are expected to differ in the RAM and storage department. Both the phones are likely to have a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. And a quad curved OLED (OLED) panel can be seen in front of both phones. While the standard Honor 200 model has a single selfie camera, the Honor 200 Pro version will house dual front-facing cameras.
Note that Honor is currently rumored to be working on two new foldable phones, the Honor Magic V Flip and the Honor Magic V3. Honor's first flip-style phone, the Magic V Flip, is expected to officially launch in China next June, while the Magic V3 could debut in July. Currently, there is no information available about the global launch of these devices.
