Motorola is about to add a new model to their Edge lineup. This is the standard Motorola Edge 50. It is going to be the successor of the Motorola Edge 40 model which was launched in May last year. The upcoming device was recently listed on India's BIS certification platform, indicating the upcoming launch of the handset in the country. Motorola Edge 50 got BIS certification
The Motorola Edge 50 phone is listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards certification platform with model number XT2407-3. It has not revealed any details regarding the specifications of the phone. However, the presence of the device on the BIS website confirms that the phone could be launched soon in the Indian market.
However, this is the first time that the Motorola Edge 50 handset has not been spotted online. The phone has already appeared on certification websites such as UAE's TDRA, US FCC and Eurasian Economic Community. The TDRA website has confirmed the name of the device, while the FCC listing has revealed some of the phone's specifications.
Based on information available on the FCC website, the Motorola Edge 50 handset is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery and support 68W fast charging. This is a significant upgrade from the 4,400 mAh battery of the Edge 40 model. The FCC listing also revealed that the Motorola Edge 50 phone will include Near Field Communication, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6, GPS and 5G connectivity.
Note that while details about the specifications of the Motorola Edge 50 phone are limited, a recent report revealed that it will be priced at 599 Euros (roughly Rs. 54,200) in Europe. It is likely that the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model will be offered at this price. Also, the phone is said to be available in Green, Peach and Gray color options. Due to its increasing presence in various certifications, it is believed that Motorola Edge 50 will enter the global market soon. It is expected to be officially announced soon.
