As usual, Samsung is gearing up to launch the next generation of its flagship Galaxy Z series foldable smartphones in the second half of the year. The company is expected to launch two models under this lineup, namely Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. The flip phone i.e. Galaxy Z Flip 6 was rumored to come in two chipset options – Qualcomm Snapdragon and Samsung Exynos 2400. And now a tipster has claimed on social media that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 model will only come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Let's get into this in detail.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 phone will only have Snapdragon chip, no Exynos variant
The next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is said to be held on July 10, and the event is expected to see the unveiling of both the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 handsets. Both the handsets have considerable demand in the global market. Now, in a post shared by tipster 'Crow' from his X (formerly known as Twitter) account, the Exynos 2400 chip will not be used in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 model.
However, some earlier reports mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 phone will be available with Exynos 2400 chipset in some regions and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in other markets. But Samsung's Exynos 2400 processor has recently seen some issues, so perhaps the company has decided to ditch it.
Samsung usually uses the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset in their flagship foldable models, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip folding handsets. On the other hand, the dual chipset approach is usually implemented in Galaxy S series models, which come with either Qualcomm or Exynos processors. The new decision is believed to compare the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with the Exynos 2400 chipset found in the Samsung Galaxy S24 models in terms of performance and efficiency.
However, the company has not yet released any official information about the processor or other specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 phone. Although, it is believed that as the Samsung Unpacked event approaches, the idea of the upcoming foldables will become clearer.
