After a long wait of two years, Android smartphone maker Fairphone has launched the Fairphone 4 5G in America. Which is designed to be ethical, sustainable and minimize negative impact on the environment. One of the notable features of the Fairphone 4 5G is its fully repairable design. Things like motherboard, camera assembly, battery, speakers etc. can easily be replaced using a simple screwdriver if they go bad. Additionally, the back of the Fairphone 4 is made entirely from 100 percent recycled plastic, demonstrating the company’s commitment to environmentally-conscious materials use and production methods.
Also, the privacy-conscious company has partnered with a company called Murena for the Fairphone 4 5G. So instead of the usual Android OS, the device runs on Murena’s /e/OS (/e/OS) operating system, which emphasizes privacy and excludes Google services. /e/OS is designed to alleviate concerns about sharing data with the search engine giant, offering a privacy-focused option. The Fairphone 4 5G features a 6.3-inch FullHD+ display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels, providing sharp visuals with a pixel density of 410 ppi. The screen supports 16.7 million colors and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor, coupled with a Qualcomm Adreno 619 GPU for graphics. The Fairphone 4 5G comes with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB in-built storage options. The Fairphone 4 5G is available in two variants in the US. Its 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at $599 (approx. Rs. 49,600) and the higher-end 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant can be purchased for $679 (approx. Rs. 56,200). The chances of the phone launching in India are very low.
