Motorola recently launched the Moto Edge 50 Pro in India. Which is a premium mid-range smartphone and has a starting price of Rs 31,999 in the country. The main rivals of this new Edge-series model in the Indian market are Realme 12 Pro+ and Oppo Reno 11 5G. Let’s see which phone is the best among the three in terms of price, specifications and features.

  • Moto Edge 50 Pro is available in the country in 8GB + 256GB 12GB + 256GB- these two RAM and storage variants. They are priced at Rs 31,999 and Rs 35,999 respectively.
  • Realme 12 Pro Plus 8GB + 128GB 8GB + 256GB 12GB + 256GB – These three RAM and storage variants are priced at Rs 29,999, Rs 31,999 and Rs 33,999 respectively.
  • The 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB models of Oppo Reno 11 are priced at Rs 29,999 and Rs 31,999 respectively.

Realme 12 Pro Plus and Oppo Reno 11 offer a 128GB storage option and both are priced at Rs 29,999. And the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model of all three devices is priced at Rs 31,999.

Moto Edge 50 Pro, Realme 12 Pro+ and Oppo Reno 11 have curved display panel and curved rear panel. Realme 12 Pro+ and Moto Edge 50 Pro have back panels made of synthetic leather. The Realme 12 Pro+ features a luxury watch-like design with a sunburst dial, golden-fluted bezel and a 3D Jubilee bracelet. Meanwhile, the Moto Edge 50 Pro has a metal chassis and is available in Moonlight Pearl Limited Edition, handcrafted in Italy.

  • Moto Edge 50 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor with Adreno 720 GPU, which is paired with 12 GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB UFS 2.2 storage.
  • The Realme 12 Pro+ is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, paired with Adreno 710 GPU, 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
  • Oppo Reno11 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor and a Mali G68 GPU. It gets 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The Moto Edge 50 Pro has a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, which is better than the processor in both competing devices. Its benchmark scores also point in the same direction.

  • Moto Edge 50 Pro runs Android 14 based on HelloUI custom skin. Motorola’s handset also comes with ThinkShield security and offers features like Moto Connect, Moto Secure and Moto Unplugged. The company promises three Android OS upgrades and four years of security patch updates.
  • Realme 12 Pro+ runs Realme UI 5.0 operating system based on Android 14. However, their company has not mentioned anything about the software update plan on the product page.
  • Oppo Reno 11 runs Android 14-based ColorOS 14 custom skin. Like Realme, Oppo has not mentioned the update in the official listing.

The Moto Edge 50 Pro seems to be ahead of the competition, as it will be updated to Android 17. Also, Moto Connect allows users to use their smartphone with external display panels and TVs.

Lens and an LED flash are included. And in front of the phone there is a 50 megapixel front camera.

The Realme 12 Pro+ has a high-resolution telephoto sensor with OIS support. On the other hand, the Moto Edge 50 Pro comes with a high-resolution ultra-wide-angle sensor and selfie camera.

  • The Moto Edge 50 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery, which supports 125W TurboPower fast charging. The handset supports 50W TurboPower wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
  • The Realme 12 Pro+ has a 5,000mAh battery and 67W SuperVOOC fast charging support.
  • The Oppo Reno 11 comes with a 5,000mAh battery and 67W Supersonic fast charging.

The Moto Edge 50 Pro has a 10% smaller battery than competing devices, but is the only device in the segment to offer wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The Motorola Base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant comes with a 68W charging adapter in the retail box. The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model of the Moto Edge 50 Pro comes with a 125W TurboPower adapter in the retail package.

  • The Moto Edge 50 Pro offers a higher resolution display, better selfie camera and faster charging compared to handsets from Realme and Oppo. It also offers wireless and reverse wireless charging, which is missing from competing devices. Overall, Moto Edge 50 Pro seems to be a good device.
