A smartphone whose design, display, camera and performance will be top notch. Oppo Reno series was born from that idea. The journey started in 2019. In April that year, Oppo launched the first Reno phone in the market, creating a stir. The pop-up camera protruding from the frame caught the eye. Five years have passed since then. Now the twelfth generation of Oppo Reno (Oppo Reno 12) is underway. All the technologies or features that have been added to this series of phones in this half decade are enough to raise eyebrows. Oppo's home market i.e. China launched two models under the Oppo Reno 12 series last month. This time, Oppo Reno 12 and Oppo Reno 12 Pro are going to be launched in the global market across the borders of China. The organization has officially announced the date.
Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro Global Launch Date
Oppo has organized a launch event in Europe on June 18 at 8:30 PM (India Time). Where the global version of the Renault 12 series will make its debut. On the same day, pre-orders will be launched in Malaysia on June 27. The Oppo Reno 12 series landing page mentions design, portrait photography, AI LinkBoost, and long lasting battery. That is, the phone will be seen to have all those features. Note that this series will also come to India. But exactly when is unknown to us.
Oppo Reno 12, Reno 12 Pro Specifications (Possible)
Display, operating system
Many readers may say, what else is new to say about this. The global Oppo Reno 12 series will have the same specifications as the Chinese model. However, according to reports from various sources, there is likely to be a slight swap. Both Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro phones will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, which will support 120 Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits brightness. The base model will feature a dual-edge display and the slightly pricier Pro variant will feature a quad-curved screen. For security, both phones have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Android 14 based ColorOS 14.1 will be pre-installed as the operating system.
Processor, RAM, Storage
Basically the processor category is what separates the global and Chinese models from each other. Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro will run on Dimensity 7300 (Dimensity 7300) processor. Whereas the two phones in China have Dimension 8250 and Dimension 9200+ chipsets respectively. Needless to say, the processor of the Chinese model is more powerful. Only the company can tell why the processor has been downgraded to the global version. Oppo Reno 12 series will be available with a maximum of 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. However, users will get additional 12 GB virtual RAM support.
Camera, battery, charging
Who does not like to know the details of the camera. And if you're addicted to taking pictures on your phone, the Oppo Reno 12 series won't disappoint. The base and Pro models will have 32-megapixel and 50-megapixel selfie cameras respectively. Both the phones will have a 50-megapixel rear camera (Sony LYT-600 sensor) with optical image stabilization or OIS support as the primary camera.
Besides, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro variant will have a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and 2x optical zoom on the back. Whereas the base Reno 12 model will have two additional cameras of 8 and 2 megapixels. Finally, both the phones will get 80W charging support for fast charging of the 5,000mAh battery.
