Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is one of the smartphones that Xiaomi is going to launch in the Chinese market next month i.e. August. The foldable handset is set to be the successor to the MIX Fold 2 launched in August last year, which is expected to offer upgrades in multiple categories. Now ahead of the upcoming launch, the MIX Fold 3 has received approval from China’s 3C (CCC) authorities. Let’s find out what this certification reveals about Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable handset.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 got 3C certification
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 phone with model number 2308CPXD0C has been listed on the China Compulsory Certification (3C) platform. As per the listing, the phone will come with a 67W fast charger (model number: MDY-12-EF). This indicates that there will be no improvement in the fast-charging capabilities of the Mix Fold 3 compared to the predecessor model. Because the current generation model also supports 67W fast charging. More information has not been released on the 3C database, but the certification hints at the upcoming launch of the Mix Fold 3 in the Chinese market.
Earlier reports suggested that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will offer a bigger battery than its predecessor. The Mix Fold 2 has a 4,500 mAh battery, but the battery capacity of the new model could be 300 mAh larger, i.e. 4,800 mAh. Also, the Mix Fold 3 will support 50W wireless charging on the phone.
According to reports, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will have a 6.56-inch full HD+ AMOLED cover display on the outside, which will support a 120Hz refresh rate. And inside there will be an 8.02-inch QHD+ foldable AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to come with MIUI 14 software version based on Android 13. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Besides, Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will feature an in-screen camera on the internal display. And the rear panel of the device will feature a Sony IMX800 primary camera, a periscope zoom camera with 10x optical zoom, a telephoto camera with 3.2x optical zoom and an ultra-wide lens. For better durability, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is expected to come with a waterdrop design hinge and IP rating.
