Vodafone Idea CEO Akshaya Moondra said the company is now seeking clarity on monetization before rolling out 5G services publicly. At the same time, company officials also confirmed working with partners to adopt new technologies – like vRAN and ORAN – to build 5G infrastructure.

Vodafone Idea is currently the only loss-making private telecom operator in the country, which is quite a cause for concern for the company. At the same time, the company is also saddled with the responsibility of paying dues to the central government and vendors like Indus Towers. That’s why Vodafone Idea seems to be trying to improve its financial position and increase customers by rolling out 5G services in the country.

Vodafone Idea is expected to launch 5G services in India by 2024 In this case, the organization has a total of 17 circles of 5G spectrum. This list includes – Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West), West Bengal.

Most notably, some residents of Mumbai and Pune have confirmed that they have been able to access Vodafone Idea’s 5G network in their cities via the X platform.
