In 2021 Tamil Nadu company Srivaru Motors responded by launching their first electric motorcycle. The model was named Prana. After three years, the company launched the upgraded version of the premium e-bike Prana 2.0. It is available in two variants namely Grand and Elite. These are claimed to offer a range of 150 km and 250 km respectively on a full battery charge.
The base model of the Prana 2.0 has been priced at Rs 2,55,150. On the other hand, the Elite version will cost Rs 3,20,250 (ex-showroom). The top speed of the bike is 123 km per hour. It uses a high-performance battery pack, which consists of 46,120 high-energy long-life cells. The electric bike will have four riding modes as well as a reverse mode.
Prana 2.0 comes with multiple patents and its integrated mobile application offers real time tracking and diagnostics. Deliveries of the electric motorcycle have been announced to begin in September. The company's production facility at Coimbatore has a production capacity of 2,000 units of bikes per month.
Srivaru Motors is planning to expand its business to countries in the Asian group such as Malaysia and Singapore to meet the demand in the Indian market. They have already started building infrastructure there. Also, the company is planning to launch electric scooters under a new brand called 'Alive' in the next few months.
