Hero Motocorp, India's largest two-wheeler maker, tied up with America's Zero Motorcycles, known worldwide for its premium electric bikes, last year. It is still unknown when the two companies will launch the e-bikes in the country. However, the Zero FXE model was recently spotted testing on Indian roads. New speculations have started on this news. On the other hand, Zero is reportedly working on a mini electric bike.
Zero's upcoming electric bike is speculated to be aimed at the urban market. The leaked patent image shows some similarities with the Honda Groom mini motorcycle. Zero is generally known for making expensive EV two-wheelers. However, the upcoming model may launch cheaper.
It is clear from the patent that the company is planning to use a removable battery in the bike. As a result, the battery can be opened and charged anywhere. Currently all of Zero's e-bikes use a fixed battery setup. They are going to change that strategy with the new mini e-bike.
Nothing is known about the specifications or features of Zero's mini electric bike. However, more information about this is expected to come out in the coming days. There is no mini bike market in India. But if it comes in electric avatar, there is a possibility of success. It is expected to be launched in India by Hero.
