Apart from launching new features, WhatsApp is also trying to strengthen the platform’s privacy system. In fact, there has been an increase in online frauds through this instant platform in recent times – even some users in India have noticed an increase in calls from international or international numbers, which are nothing more than a means for scammers to fool the common man. Some have already faced huge financial losses by falling into the trap of these calls. But to avoid this kind of unwanted incidents, this time WhatsApp has boosted or improved its AI and machine learning system and brought a new security feature, named ‘Silence Unknown Callers’. It may be noted that the company is rolling out this new feature globally, but since India has a high volume of calls from international numbers, it is said to be rolling out immediately (read now) in the country.
How will this new security feature of WhatsApp work?
By reading this, you must have understood that WhatsApp’s Silence Unknown Callers feature is specially designed to protect users’ privacy and control incoming calls. This basically avoids spam and scam calls. Speaking of functionality, once this Silence Unknown Callers feature is activated, it will automatically silence incoming calls from numbers that are not saved on the user’s phone. Although these calls will not cause the phone to ring, a missed call will be visible in the calls section. By doing this, users can choose which calls are important and which are not.
