Maruti Suzuki has been working on an electric vehicle codenamed eVX for quite some time The concept version of which was first showcased at the Auto Expo last year. Then the production version of the Nia was unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo event earlier this year. It is now known that the Maruti Suzuki eVX production ready model will make its debut at the India Mobility Expo event scheduled to be held on January 17-22, 2025.
It may be noted that although Maruti Suzuki's first electric car was supposed to be unveiled globally this year, the plan has been delayed due to various reasons. According to a report by Autocar India, the car will make its debut at the Auto Expo event which coincides with the Bharat Mobility Expo. The market will launch in the first half of 2025. But primarily the European market will be given importance.
According to the report, India will be the mother plant of the eVX vehicle. That is, it will be exported to different parts of the world from Maruti Suzuki's factory in this country. Suzuki Motor's factory in Gujarat has high production potential. Apart from Europe, the car will also be exported to Japan. The company plans to produce 1.5 lakh units annually.
The Maruti Suzuki eVX camouflage has been seen several times on Indian roads in recent times. It will feature an all-LED lighting setup, connected-style taillamps, advanced driver assistance system, 360-degree camera, and dual screens.
