The days of buying cheap electric scooters in India are over. The Union Ministry of Heavy Industries has reduced the subsidy ceiling from 40 percent to 15 percent under the FEM-II scheme. Which is effective from 1st June i.e. from today. As a result, the price of electric scooters of various companies is going to increase which is needless to say. This time, Ola Electric (Ola Electric) has announced a price increase of up to 15,000 rupees for their S1 and S1 Pro. Other companies like Ola will soon announce new prices for their electric two-wheelers.
Ola S1 and S1 Pro price hiked by Rs 15,000
According to Ola Electric’s official website, the S1 is being sold at an ex-showroom price of Tk 1.30 lakh from today. Till yesterday which was sold for Rs 1.15 lakh. Which includes a 3 kWh battery pack. Its range on a full charge is 141 km (tested).
On the other hand, the Ola S1 Pro flagship scooter is currently priced at Rs 1.40 lakh. Till yesterday the price was Rs 1.25 lakh. It has a 4 kWh battery pack. Which runs 181 km on a full charge. The scooter is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 116 km per hour.
Ola Electric launched their cheapest battery powered model S1 Air last year. The scooter can be chosen in three variants. It is available with 2, 3 and 4 kWh batteries. As of yesterday, the starting price of the scooter was Rs 85,000. But as a result of the price increase, it will have to be bought for Tk 1-1.10 lakhs (ex-showroom) from today.
Incidentally, the S1 model can also be purchased with a 3 kWh battery pack. But the 3 kWh model of the S1 Air offers a range of 125 km on a full charge. Which is 16 km less than S1. Its top speed is 85 km/h, which is 10 km/h less than the S1.
