After rolling out a slew of new features over the past few weeks, mid-month WhatsApp rolled out a redesigned keyboard with an emoji category bar for its beta (both Android and iOS device users) users. By doing this, many people get the opportunity to enjoy the innovation instead of the very old keyboard layout of the instant messaging platform. But this time, WhatsApp has decided to deliver this new keyboard to everyone’s fingertips, not just for a few users. Recently, this popular company owned by Meta has started the rollout of redesigned keyboard for all Android users.
WhatsApp’s emoji keyboard is changing
After the new update of WhatsApp, Android users will see the new emoji keyboard while using emojis, stickers or GIFs in chats. In this case, not much change will be observed in each section, their appearance will remain the same. But the button to switch to different sections at will or to access each section separately will be located in a bar above the keyboard – you can also use emojis, stickers or GIFs by sliding the screen. All in all, the emoji section or the keyboard will look quite different at a glance.
Incidentally, to use this new keyboard, Android smartphone users need to install the latest update of the WhatsApp app.
Video message feature has arrived
As previously speculated, the video message feature has finally rolled out for WhatsApp’s Android beta users. After the recent update, tapping on the app’s mic button will transform into a video icon. And by clicking on this icon, you can record the video as you want and send it to someone. In this case, this video will not be sent as a normal media file. Rather, it will be available as a message with no option to save or forward to someone else.
It is also heard that the company is currently working on an interesting feature called ‘Message pin duration’, which once launched, WhatsApp users can pin any important message as they wish. In this case, there will be fixed time options like 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days to pin the message.
