The world's most popular chatting platform WhatsApp has recently added link account or add account feature to their app, with the help of which now one can chat with multiple numbers from the same app and users can switch from one account to another account whenever they want. This new WhatsApp feature will allow you to use both personal and official accounts on the same phone. As a result you will not miss any message. Let's see how this feature can be used.
WhatsApp's 'Link Account' or 'Add Account' feature allows chatting with multiple numbers from the same app. The Link Account feature can be used on both iOS and Android apps. You can either link your existing account or create a new WhatsApp account with a new number in the same app.
Run WhatsApp with multiple numbers on one phone
- First open WhatsApp on the phone you want to chat with multiple numbers.
- Go to the settings option by clicking on the three dots present at the top right.
- Tap on the arrow icon next to your name and mobile number, here you will get the option to add account.
- Besides, you can also search for add account option by tapping on the search icon.
- From here you will get the option to create or link account with another number.
WhatsApp will have two options for linking accounts
- After tapping on Add Account, you will get two options – Register an Account and Link as Companion Device.
- If you want to create a new account with a different number, press the first option. But if you are running WhatsApp with another number on another phone and want to link the account here, then tap on the second option.
- Tapping on the first option requires you to setup a new WhatsApp account via OTP.
- The second option will show a QR code, which after scanning will be linked to the second number.
