Prices of electric bikes and scooters across the country have gone up quite a bit after the Centre's fem-to-subsidy expired. However, manufacturers are also taking measures so that buyers do not have to bear the burden of additional costs. For example, Greaves Electric Mobility's EV two-wheeler manufacturing arm Ampere has announced a price reduction of up to 10,000 rupees on their Ampere Reo Li Plus and Magnus electric scooters.
Ampere Magnus and Reo Li Plus e-scooters reduced in price
Notably, Ampere currently sells five electric scooters in India. The Magnus model is available in two variants – Magnus EX and Magnus LT. Earlier these two models were priced at Tk 1,04,900 and Tk 93,900 respectively (ex-showroom). Currently, they are cheaper by Rs 10,000 and Rs 9,000. As a result, now the cost of buying two scooties will be Rs. 94,900 and Rs. 84,900 respectively.
On the other hand, Reo Li Plus can now be brought home for just Tk 59,990. Earlier the price was Rs 69,900. All above prices are as per ex-showroom price. Apart from these models, the company has not changed the prices of other scooters. Incidentally, the Ampere Reo Li Plus packs a 1.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It gives a range of 70 km on a full charge. Top speed is 25 km per hour.
On the other hand, the Ampere Magnus EX has a 1,200 watt electric motor and a 1.68 kw battery pack as its power source. A full charge will give it a range of 80-100 km. The maximum speed is 53 km per hour. Ampere Magnus LT has a range and top speed of 80 kmph and 45 kmph respectively.
