Recently Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited or BSNL has extended the validity of two prepaid plans. Both plans have been a part of the telco’s prepaid portfolio for a long time. However, where most of the telecom companies reduce the validity of prepaid plans to increase ARPU, the increase in the validity of these two plans is considered to be quite a surprise move. BSNL has done this primarily to increase its market share in the wireless segment.
Also since BSNL is going to launch 4G services soon, they can use this strategy to lure users, so that more users connect to the network of this state-owned company. Let’s see how long BSNL’s Rs 699 and Rs 999 plans are valid.
699 plan of BSNL
Earlier BSNL Rs 699 plan validity was 130 days. But now it can be used for 150 days. Here users can enjoy 0.5 GB data per day for 150 days, unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS per day. And as an additional benefit, free PRBT facility is also available for the first 60 days.
BSNL Rs 999 plan
Now BSNL’s Rs 999 plan will get 215 days validity, where earlier it was valid for 200 days. But here you will get PRBT only for two months and unlimited voice calling facility for 200 days. But no data or SMS facility is available with it.
BSNL has recently reduced the validity of its Rs 99 plan from 18 days to 17 days. After that the company extended the validity of two popular prepaid plans.
