BMW R 1300 GS launched in India. This adventure tourer motorcycle has a new design, advanced features, and the biggest boxer engine in the company's history.
After a long wait, the BMW R 1300 GS has finally been launched in the Indian market. The new model replaces the iconic adventure touring motorcycle BMW R 1250 GS that has been sold in the market for a long time. As an update, the 'monster' BMW R 1300 GS gets a completely new design, the most powerful boxer 1300 cc engine and new features. BMW has announced the price of the bike at Tk 20.95 lakh (ex-showroom). But this is the introductory price of the model. That means the price will be increased after a few days.
The BMW R 1300 GS has been launched
The BMW R 1300 GS has shed 12 kg compared to its predecessor. It gets new matrix LED headlights. Again, the Dynamic Package comes as standard features. It also has Gear Shift Assistant Pro and Harek Riding Mode. Three styling packages are available – Style Triple Black, Style GS Trophy and 719 Tramuntana.
Powering the BMW R 1300 GS is a two-cylinder boxer 1300 cc engine. It produces 145 bhp of power at 7750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. BMW's new ShiftCam technology is offered. There is also valve timing, valve stroke, new steel frame and new suspension.
The monstrous BMW R 1300 GS features engine drag torque control, hill start control and dynamic brake control. For braking, there are twin disc brakes at the front and single disc brakes at the rear. Notable features include – 6.5 inch full color TFT touchscreen, comfort package with a center stand, adjustable windscreen with windscreen, cockpit trim and wind deflector, passenger kit with comfort passenger seat, comfort passenger rest and luggage carrier. Touring package is optional.
