Witnessing global customer craze in the 350-500 cc segment, British premium two-wheeler manufacturer Triumph has launched the Speed 400 motorcycle in India. This is their cheapest model. Along with the Roadster model, they have announced the launch of a Scrambler bike. Named – Triumph Scrambler 400X. However, Triumph has not announced its price yet. It has been announced by the organization that the price will be announced in October this year i.e. during Puja.
Advance booking of the motorcycle is being taken for Rs 2,000. If the booking is canceled, this amount is fully refundable, said Triumph. Let us inform here that both the above mentioned bikes are jointly developed by Triumph with Bajaj Auto. These are being manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan factory.
Triumph Scrambler 400X : Design and Dimensions
In terms of design, the Scrambler 400X is inspired by the company’s Scrambler 900 and 1200. It has a two-piece seat. Its height from the ground is 835 mm. Whereas the Speed 400 has a saddle height of 790 mm. The Scrambler model features a longer travel suspension and handlebar knuckle guards. It weighs 185 kg, which is 9 kg more than the Speed 400. The length, width, height and wheelbase of the bike are 2154 mm, 901 mm, 1169 mm and 1418 mm respectively.
Triumph Scrambler 400X : Hardware
The Scrambler 400X gets 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels to enhance the Scrambler look. It also gets 100/90 section and 140/80 section dual-purpose tires at the front and rear respectively. Braking duties are handled by 320mm and 230mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively. It also has a feature to disable ABS for better control in off-road riding.
Triumph Scrambler 400X: Features and Powertrain
Triumph Scrambler 400X features ride-by-wire, all-LED lighting setup and switchable traction control. The bike comes with semi digital instrument cluster. Where dual odometer, fuel level, along with gear indicator etc information will be displayed. It has a USB C port for charging mobile phones.
Like the Triumph Speed 400, the Scrambler 400X will also be powered by a 398 cc liquid cooled engine. Which will produce 39.5 bhp of power at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist clutch.
