Triumph Motorcycles India (Triumph Motorcycles India) and Bajaj Auto (Bajaj Auto) jointly launched their new motorcycles Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X in India. Seeing the blockbuster demand for the bikes, Triumph is planning to open more showrooms across the country in collaboration with Bajaj. The two companies have set a target of opening 100 new dealerships in the country by 2023-24.
Triumph will take their number of showrooms in India to 100
With the 400 twins, premium bike maker Triumph has launched a relatively affordable model in the country. As a result, their bikes will reach more buyers. The Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X are being manufactured at Bajaj’s new plant in Chakan. Triumph needs more dealerships to reach more buyers in the domestic market.
In this context, Sumit Narang, president of Bajaj Auto, said that 15 dealerships of Triumph are currently active in India. Within months that will be taken to 30. The number of dealerships will be further increased to 50 in the next two months. And a total of 100 outlets are targeted to be opened by March 2024.
The Speed 400, a joint venture between Triumph and Bajaj, has been priced at Rs 2.23 lakh (ex-showroom). But this price will be available for the first 10,000 buyers. Then the price of the bike will be increased to 2.33 lakh rupees. Many did not expect that the price of the bike will be kept so low. It is even cheaper than the Harley-Davidson X440.
Seeing the absolute dominance of Royal Enfield in the 350-500 cc segment, companies like Harley-Davidson and Triumph have launched their bikes in this regard. Triumph will begin deliveries of the Speed 400 from mid-July. Again the Scrambler 400X is said to be launched in October this year.
