Bajaj Auto launched the electric version of this scooter in 2020 as a tribute to the original Chetke. Chetak could not make a dent in the market for the first three years due to the lockdown due to Covid and then the EV two-wheeler startup companies. But that picture has changed in the past few months. It is currently the third best selling electric scooter in India after Ola S1, TVS iCube. Even last month its bookings crossed 20,000.
The launch of the cheapest variant of the Bajaj Chetak is being identified as the primary reason behind this demand. With the Chetak 2901 selling for Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom), the price gap with Ola and Ether has narrowed. Those whose budget is between 1 lakh are choosing cars from reputed companies like Bajaj, keeping in mind the brand value and value. The company claims that it will get a range of 123 km from its 2.88 kWh battery.
Bajaj Chetak 2901 offers LCD display and economy riding mode. Additionally, by paying an additional Rs 3,000, many features can be unlocked in the Techpack package. Like sports mode, smartphone connectivity, music control, heel hold assist, etc. Earlier Chetak was not available in all dealerships. But now it is available in more than 2000 showrooms across the country. Bajaj has opened outlets in small towns too As a result, the number of buyers has also started to increase.
It should be noted that Bajaj Chetak 3201 Special Edition was launched in India very recently. This new model builds on the top-spec premium variant of the Chetak. The special edition has cosmetic upgrades compared to the standard premium variant. Will be available in Brooklyn Black color scheme i.e. full black color. Bajaj claims it will give a range of 136 km. The speed of the electric scooter is 73 km per hour.
