Apple Watch Series 6 launched with Blood Oxygen Sensor: Specifications, Price

Apple Watch Series 6 has been unveiled by Apple in the “Time Flies” event. According to a Gadget360 report, The new watch looks similar to watch series 5 and series 4 but the new hardware is touted to deliver faster performance, better water resistance, and enhanced wireless connectivity, as per the company.

As per report, Apple Watch Series 6 comes in a single band with no clasp and also come in 40mm and 44mm case options. These both case sizes have a ceramic and sapphire crystal back finish and come in aluminium, stainless steel, titanium, and ceramic materials.

The new watch features an always-on Retina display with a refresh rate of up to 60Hz and has a peak brightness of 1000nits. The 40mm Apple Watch Series 6 comes with a resolution of 324×394 pixels, whereas its 44mm option has 368×448 pixels. The smartwatch also features a better 2.5 times brighter Always-on-display than the previous model in outdoor.

The smartwatch is powered by a new Apple S6 chipset, that is claimed to be up to 2X times faster than the S5 processor available on the Apple Watch Series 5. The watch has a W3 wireless chip for seamless connectivity with Apple devices. Watch Series 6 is the first watch in the series to have an ultra-wideband (UWB) technology and the U1 chip that enable connectivity using radio waves in a short range.

In terms of health, Apple Watch Series 6 has new health sensor that uses infrared light and photodiodes to detect color of blood under the skin and to calculate blood oxygen saturation(SpO2). The watch wearer will be alerted if their blood oxygen levels drop below the reference figure between 95 and 100 percent. The smartwatch has electrical heart sensor that can record heartbeat and rhythm. It can detect atrial fibrillation (AFib) and can provide an electrocardiogram (ECG) report.



The Apple Watch Series 6 also comes with inbuilt mental health tracking features, to detect panic attacks and high levels of stress. Apple watch has an Always-On Altimeter that provides real-time elevation all day. It also suggests regular breathing exercises control your stress levels. Further, the smartwatch offers sleep tracking using a combination of accelerometer data and software tweaks available through watchOS 7. Apple claims that the Apple Watch Series 6 can provide up to 18 hours of battery life in a single charge.


Apple Watch Series 6 price and Availability


Apple Watch Series 6 is priced at Rs. 40,900 for the GPS variant while the cellular variant including GPS is priced at Rs. 49,900. Both the 40mm and 44mm options are available in India soon. In the US, the Apple Watch Series 6 (GPS) price starts at $399 (roughly Rs. 29,400). The Apple Watch Series 6 is available in the US from September 18 and it is available for pre-order now through Apple.com or Apple stores. The watch series 6 GPS option is priced at $399 ( Rs. 29,400 approx) while the GPS + Cellular version is priced at $499 (Rs. 36,700 approx) in the US .
