Apple iPhone 12 series launched with A14 Bionic Chipset: Price, Specifications

Apple iPhone 12 series mini finally unveiled today at the event along with HomePod Mini. All the iPhone comes with 5G support and feature OLED displays. The iPhone 12 series will feature MagSafe wireless charging technology that supports up to 15W wireless charging.

The Apple iPhone 12 features a 6.1 inches Super Retina XDR display with FHD+ ( 1170×2532 pixels ) resolution along with 460ppi pixel density and 1200nits peak brightness, and comes with durable Ceramic Shield glass technology, Apple said. The smartphone is powered by a Hexa-core A14 Bionic chipset coupled with a four-core GPU. The company claims that its CPU and GPU are both 50% faster among all the smartphones currently present in the market.

In terms of Camera, the iPhone 12 sports a dual rear camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle primary sensor with f/1.6 aperture and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens that Apple claims to provide better low-light photography and videography. Apple also improved the night mode for all iPhone 12 models and also improved the night mode for the selfie camera. Apple also provided night mode time-lapse that allows you to shoot excellent low-light videos.


The smartphone is touted to deliver 17hours of continuous video playback although the exact capacity of the battery is not revealed by the company. Apple also introduced the new MagSafe wireless charging standard for iPhone. This standard supports up to 15W wireless charging. MagSafe accessories can attach on to the back of iPhones for better alignment of the charger. Apple has removed the headphones and charging adapters from the boxes of the iPhone 12 series, in a bid to be more eco-friendly.

The iPhone 12 mini features a 5.4 inches Super Retina XDR display with FHD+ ( 1170×2532 pixels ) resolution along with 476ppi pixel density that is protected with Ceramic Shield glass. The iPhone 12 mini is powered by the same A14 Bionic SoC, along with 5G support, a similar design, and the same cameras too. The company says that the only major difference between the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini is the screen size and battery capacity.


The iPhone 12 mini is capable of providing 15 hours of continuous video playback while iPhone 12 is capable of 17 hours of continuous playback. The iPhone 12 mini is even smaller and lighter than 4.7-inch iPhones such as the iPhone 7 while giving you a bigger and better display. The iPhone 12 mini is the smallest among the Apple iPhone 12 series.

The iPhone 12 Pro features a 6.1 inches Super Retina XDR display with FHD+ ( 2532×1170 pixels ) resolution along with 460ppi pixel density protected with Ceramic Shield glass. This iPhone also sports Apple’s A14 Bionic chipset coupled with the same four-core GPU. Apple iPhone 12 Pro sports a triple rear camera that includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 120-degree FoV( Field of View ), an f/2.4 aperture, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.0.


The telephoto lens is capable of providing a 2x optical zoom and 4x optical zoom range along with a 10x digital zoom. There is also support for HDR video recording and even Dolby Vision HDR. The iPhone 12 pro has a similar battery to the iPhone 12 that can provide 17 hours of video playback continuously in a single charge. The smartphone supports 20W fast charging and 15W fast wireless charging but the phone comes with no charger and earbuds.


Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max Specifications


iPhone 12 Pro Max has 6.7 inches Super Retina XDR display with FHD+ ( 2778×1284 pixels ) resolution along with 460ppi pixel density and the display is protected with the same Ceramic Shield glass technology. Under the hood, it also boasts A14 bionic chipset coupled with Quad-core GPU. This smartphone also features a triple rear camera module with a primary and ultra-wide lens similar to iPhone 12 pro but different telephoto lens.


The telephoto camera on iPhone 12 pro has a 65mm focal length that allows you 2.5x optical zoom and a zoom range of 5x along with 12x digital zoom. The iPhone 12 pro max also has a larger battery with 20 hours of continuous video playback compared to 17 hours of playback of iPhone 12 pro and iPhone 12. The smartphone has the same charging support similar to iPhone 12 pro. The iPhone 12 Pro Max would attract the large screen size users among the iPhone 12 series.


Apple iPhone 12 series Price


As mentioned earlier, Apple iPhone 12 series has four iPhone 12 models starting with the bottom-most iPhone 12 mini, it is the price is $699 ( Rs. 51,200 around ) for the 64GB option, whereas the iPhone 12 64GB option is priced at $799 ( Rs. 58,600 around ). The iPhone 12 price starts at Rs. 79,900 in India while the iPhone 12 mini starts at Rs. 69,900 in the country.


The iPhone 12 Pro base variant with a 128GB storage comes at a starting price of $999 (roughly Rs. 73,000) while the iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at $1,099 (roughly Rs. 80,600) for 128GB storage option. The iPhone 12 Pro base variant cost is Rs. 1,19,000 while iPhone 12 Pro Max price start at Rs. 1,29,000 in India.
