Redmi 9 announced today in India as the latest budget smartphone by Xiaomi. Xiaomi announced Redmi 9 prime a few weeks ago in India now the Chinese smartphone maker added another smartphone to Redmi 9 series. The latest smartphone features a waterdrop-notch display and carries dual rear cameras in the square housing. Moreover, the new smartphone is launched as the successor to the Redmi 8 that was launched last year.

The latest smartphone features a 6.53-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) Waterdrop Notch display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 octa-core chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM. The device is packed with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 10W fast charging.
In terms of Camera, the smartphone comes with the dual rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. This makes this smartphone different from the Redmi 9C that has three camera sensors at the back. For selfies, the phones have a 5-megapixel front camera under the waterdrop-notch.
Redmi 9 Price and Availability
The smartphone is launched in two storage configurations 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB and the base variant is priced for Rs. 8,999 while the 128GB variant is priced for Rs. 9,999. The phone has three color options Carbon Black, Sky Blue, and Sporty Orange. The device will go live for the first sale on August 31 via Amazon and Mi.com. Furthermore, the company said that the phone is available through Mi Home stores and offline retailers in the country very soon.
