There have been rumors for several weeks that telecom companies in India may increase their recharge charges and tariffs after the Lok Sabha polls. In that case, Bharti Airtel launched a new prepaid plan of Rs. This plan has been introduced for those customers of the company, who make a lot of phone calls even though they don't use internet and SMS that much. However, Airtel's Rs 395 plan is likely to be hiked, as Reliance Jio has long offered a 'value' recharge plan of the same price, with a validity of about a month.
In fact, Airtel's new plan comes with a validity of 56 days, while Jio's existing Rs 395 plan comes with a validity of 84 days. It is being speculated that even if Airtel has quietly added this plan to its portfolio, it is actually indicative of a tariff hike while Jio may in the near future reduce the validity of similarly priced plans and increase its prices. Anyway, let's take a look at what Airtel's new Rs 395 prepaid plan offers and what exactly Jio offers at the same price.
Airtel's Rs 395 prepaid plan: What are the benefits?
Airtel's new Rs 395 prepaid plan offers unlimited voice calling (local + STD), a total of 600 SMS and 6GB data for the entire validity. As mentioned earlier, the validity of this plan is 56 days. The plan includes free access to Apollo 24/7 Circle, HelloTunes and Wynk Music as extra benefits.
It should be noted that once the message quota of this Airtel plan is over, you will have to pay Rs 1 for local SMS and Rs 1.5 for STD SMS. On the other hand, once the 6GB data limit is over, data can be recharged with vouchers as required. It will not come with any unlimited 5G data benefits.
Benefits of Jio's Rs 395 Plan
Reliance Jio's Rs 395 plan offers unlimited voice calling, a total of 1,000 SMS and 6GB data for a period of 84 days. It also has an option to use unlimited 5G data. Apart from this, you can use JioTV, JioCinema platforms for free on recharge of the plan.
Overall, the average cost of Airtel's Rs 395 plan is around Rs 7.05 per day, while Jio customers have to spend Rs 4.70 per day. In that case, whether Jio reduces the benefits of its plans or increases the tariff duty in the coming days, there is no doubt that the country's leading telecom operator is currently offering more benefits in terms of validity, SMS or data for less money!
