There is a great news for WhatsApp Android version users! The instant messaging app has recently announced a new feature that will allow searching for chats and images based on date. Notably, this feature is already available on WhatsApp’s iOS, Mac desktop and web platforms. And today finally this feature has been brought to the Android version as well.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently shared this news through his WhatsApp channel. He even posted a video demonstrating the functionality of the feature. Where – Shows how to search for very old pictures or conversations by just entering the date in the chat window So with this feature, you no longer have to go through all the chat windows to find a specific image or chat summary.
How to search chats and photos by date in WhatsApp Android version?
1. First open WhatsApp on your Android device.
2. Then tap on the chat window from which you want to search for images or chats. In this case, this feature will work in both individual and group chats.
3. After going to the specified chat window, tap on the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen. After which the drop-down menu will open.
4. Now choose the option written ‘Search’ from the menu option.
5. After tapping on the ‘Search’ option, a calendar icon will be visible. Tap on it to access the date.
6. Next a calendar will appear on the screen. Here you can see the month and day text, choose a specific date by scrolling
7. Finally after selecting the date WhatsApp will display all chats and received or sent media files of that particular day.
WhatsApp has announced another new feature called text formatting
Let us know, last week WhatsApp launched a new feature called ‘Text Formatting’. Reportedly, under this feature – new formatting options like bulleted list, numbered list, block quote and inline code have been introduced. This feature is already available to users of WhatsApp – iOS, Android, Web and Mac platforms The new text formats can be used in – private chats, group chats, and even channel broadcasts.
How to use Text formatting feature?
• Bulleted list: start with “-” sign and followed by space.
• Numbered List: Start with a digit. Then enter dot and space. (Example – “1. “).
• Block quote: Enter a text by typing “>” followed by a space.
• Inline Code: Enclose code snippets within “`” symbols.
