Last January, Tata Motors launched the Punch EV as India’s cheapest electric SUV. After announcing discounts on almost every vehicle, the only exception was the Punch EV model. But it is Tata that will put a smile on the faces of buyers who are interested in buying this car in April. For the first time since the launch, the company has announced to offer a discount of Rs 50,000.
As reported by Autocar India, the discount is only available on the top spec Empowered +S LR AC Fast Charger (FC) variant of the Punch EV. According to the report, Tata sent a large number of Punch EV variants to their dealerships ahead of the January 17 launch. As a result, the discount decision came in the second week of April to clear the stock of the model with 7.2 kW AC charger.
Discounts in April on Tata Punch EV
The company’s showrooms are offering a discount of Rs 20,000 on the Tata Punch EV in order to clear the stock. With additional dealer discounts, the savings will reach Rs 50,000. It is reported that at least five to ten Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC FC models are present in every Tata showroom. With the addition of discounts, the price of the car has come down from Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Punch EV – Battery, Range and Features
The Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC FC variant has a 35 kWh battery pack. The company claims that it will run up to 421 km on a full charge. Notable features include electronic parking brake, hill descent control, sunroof, ambient lighting, leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, 360 degree camera, 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment and digital instrument cluster.
