Under this rule Jio, Airtel, VI and BSNL will be forced to bring plans with 10 rupees recharge and 365 days validity.
TRAI has realized that the problem of expensive recharges is a long-standing one. Therefore, the organization changed the guidelines on December 24. However, the private telecom operators have not yet responded. On the contrary, in July last year, they increased the prices a lot. In fact, the trial is going to be tough this time as there is no reflection.
10 rupees recharge is coming
To reduce the burden of expensive recharge on the customers, companies can introduce 10 rupees prepaid plan. Jio, Airtel and VI have been asked to follow this rule. This will be issued as a top-up voucher. The government telecom company BSNL will also follow this rule. Besides, the regulatory body has ordered to cancel various types of physical recharge system.
STV or Special Tariff Voucher will be valid for 365 days
Another rule is coming. Where the validity of Special Tariff Voucher will be increased from 90 days to 365 days. This change will allow users to take long-term, cost-effective recharge options. Telecom operators have been directed to roll out only voice and SMS-based plans. Especially for 2G feature phone users.
It is learned that the new guidelines are practically ready and the process of implementation has started. But telecom companies have asked for some time. No official date has been announced yet. However, many are assuming that the whole matter will be finalized within a few days.
