HMD Global, a Finland company, is about to make big decisions for selling Nokia brand mobile phones and tablets. They are now moving away from the US market. According to the report, the company has completely shut down their official website in the United States and sell all types of devices. Naturally it is a big push for HMD Global, as they have long been popular for 'readily available and reliable phones' to market.
Although the company did not explain exactly what caused such a decision. They have just said that they have forced such a decision because of “the ongoing geopolitical and economic reality”. Experts estimate that HMD Global has made such a decision mainly because of US tariff policies and trade pressure.
Visiting the company's US website right now you will see the website part completely offline. Although some product pages are still visible, the “Where to Buy” button is not working and there is no alternative option to buy. However, models like modular design HMD Skyline are still available on the third party platform like Amazon.
Meanwhile, those who have already bought any HMD device, the company said that warranty and customer service services will be available as before and their Global Customer Care Network will be provided. However, the company has not yet reported what the future of US workers is.
It should be noted that HMD Global started its journey after receiving the ownership of the Nokia feature phone department from Microsoft in the 21st. They have tried to bring back the old Nokia brand in the modern form through budget and mid-range Android phones.
In 2021, they brought the phone to the market in their name, including repairable phones like HMD Skyline and a strange design flip device like Barbie Flip Phone. In India, the brand also has several smartphones available.
