Honda Activa has long held the title of India's best selling scooter. Over the past few years, several state-of-the-art scooters have hit the market but failed to dislodge the Activa from the top spot. This popular scooter has touched a new precedent.
The Japanese two-wheeler giant has announced that they have crossed the milestone of selling 10 million or 1 crore units of Activa in South India. Demand for Activa in states and Union Territories like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands is eye-watering.
Since its launch in 2001, sales of the Honda Activa scooty have grown over time. In 2017, 16 years after its launch in South India, its sales touched 5 million or 50 lakhs. It took only 7 years for the Activa 6G and Activa 125 to reach the next 5 lakh sales.
