Yamaha appeared with a big surprise. The Japanese company has announced upgraded versions of Yamaha YZR R1 and YZF R1M. Both sports bikes have received a slew of updates including MotoGP-style carbon fiber aerodynamic winglets, new suspension and state-of-the-art Brembo Stylema brakes. Apart from that, most of the bodywork remains unchanged from the chassis of the R1 and R1M.
Yamaha, however, hasn't given any upgrades to the powertrain. Both the bikes will run the same 998 cc powerful CP4, crossplane crank, in-line four cylinder engine, producing 200 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. Although the R1 is the base model, the number of updates is higher than the R1M.
The bike features a fully adjustable 43mm KYB fork, Brembo Stylma four-piston calipers and a Brembo master cylinder. On the other hand, the high-end model Yamaha R1M comes with carbon bodywork, state-of-the-art Ohlins suspension and a host of electronic features.
2025 Yamaha YZR R1 and YZF R1M will be launched in America first. However, the street legal version will not come to Europe. Because it did not meet the Euro-6 emission norms. As European style BS-6 is in operation in India as well, the possibility of launch in this country is less.
