Keeping in mind the demand during the Puja season, the country's largest passenger car maker Maruti Suzuki has announced a price cut on two of its popular models. The Indo-Japanese company has slashed prices on select variants of the Alto K10 and S-Presso.
Maruti Alto K10 and S-Presso got cheaper
Maruti Alto K-10 VXI petrol price has been reduced by Rs 6,500. On the other hand, the Maruti S-Presso LXI petrol has become cheaper by Rs 2,000. It should be noted that the demand for small cars is decreasing day by day due to the influence of SUVs. Even the sales of these two cars fell by 12.78 percent last month. The Alto and S-Presso combined sold 10,648 units last month. 1,561 units less than in August 2023. However, the company is optimistic that the demand will increase as a result of the price reduction.
Notably, the Maruti Alto K10 and S-Presso recently got the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) feature as standard. Although this technology is added, the company has not increased the price. Alto K10 is currently priced at Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the S-Presso model is priced between Rs 4.26 lakh and Rs 6.11 lakh (ex-showroom).
Talking about the performance, both these Maruti cars use the 1.0 liter K10C petrol engine. Which produces a maximum power of 67 PS and a peak torque of 89 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed automated manual transmission. Also, the two cars are also available in CNG variants with a five-speed MT.
