A journalist by profession has been fined for driving without wearing a helmet. Although it is surprising to hear, such an incident happened in Uttar Pradesh. Basically, the police can issue a challan if they go out with a bike without wearing a helmet. But there is no such rule in the traffic law that one must wear a helmet when driving a four-wheeler.
According to an all-India media report, the Rampur resident was fined Rs 1,000 by the police in Noida's Gautam Buddha Nagar district for driving without wearing a helmet. But he never knew that area in his claim life. So at first he avoided the message about the fine on the mobile saying it was wrong.
When an email and a separate message were sent by the traffic police due to non-response, the owner of the car, Tushay Saxena, became worried. He bought the car in March last year and transferred the car registration from Ghaziabad to Rampur. He said, “The invoice was cut in November 2023. It is normal to be fined for breaking traffic laws, but not in my case.”
I have never driven my car in NCR area,” added Tushar If there is a rule requiring helmets to be worn inside the vehicle, the authorities must communicate it in writing. The police have warned him that he will have to appear in court if he does not pay the fine. However, after investigating the matter, he appealed to the Noida police to withdraw the fine.
