Ather Energy, famous for manufacturing state-of-the-art electric scooters, today announced its entry into the Sri Lankan market. This is going to be their second international market after Nepal. According to the company, they will open the first showroom or experience center in Sri Lanka in the next quarter in collaboration with Evolution Auto.
Evolution Auto will handle the sales and service of Ether Energy in Sri Lanka as the National Distributor. The Indian company will build the infrastructure of the first charging station in that country. So that electric scooter users don't have to wait long to charge their vehicles.
Incidentally, after entering Nepal in November last year, Ether is operating three experience centers and seven fast charging grids there. Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Aether Energy said, “Sri Lanka is part of our global expansion plan. The rising cost of ownership of petrol cars and the financial and environmental benefits of electric cars are driving the demand for electric vehicles in the Sri Lankan market.”
Aether Energy has seen success courtesy of the 450 series of electric scooters. The company currently sells four electric scooters in India – Rizta, 450X, 450S, and 450 Apex. They are available in multiple battery variants. The cheapest model is the Rizta (Rs 1.11 lakh), while the most expensive model is the 450 Apex (Rs 1.96 lakh).
