Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia made a big announcement on Saturday i.e. July 27. He said, within the next 12 months, the coverage of telecom connectivity in the country's villages will be 100 percent. Union Telecom and North Eastern Development Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the Cabinet has approved a special fund for this. The purpose of which is to monitor the progress of work every week.

24000 villages have been identified

In the press conference, Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “The Prime Minister of the country is committed to complete this work 100 percent. We have identified around 24,000 villages in the country, where telecom connectivity is in dire need. Jyotiraditya Scindia said the government has already launched a special scheme for all villages, funds have been created to meet this objective. The minister also said that special strategies are being developed to provide better telecom connectivity to villages in the North-Eastern states. A lot of improvement will be seen after the implementation of these policies.”

Jyotiraditya Scindia also said that necessary technologies like VSAT and satellite will be used to improve the telecom infrastructure as per the new Telecom Act. In such a situation, a target of one year has been taken to reach the village telecom connection. Jyotiraditya Scindia said, 'I am personally monitoring the related work every week, so far 13 to 1400 villages have been brought under it.' Jyotiraditya Scindia said that in the financial year 2024-25, funds have been allocated in the Union Budget to complete this project in the northeastern states.

Scindia claimed, “For the last 75 years, the North-Eastern states have been treated like orphans, but these regions are developing because of the expertise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 11,000 crore has been given to Assam and Sikkim for flood control by setting up a special fund. In the last budget, resources were earmarked for opening 100 new branches of India Post Payments Bank. This time also money has been allocated in this sector. In the coming days, through central taxation and investment, the communication infrastructure in the region will be improved.”
