Tata Motors' electric car sales touch one and a half lakh units. Currently their best selling EV model is the Nexon EV. The company's upcoming electric vehicles will be Curvv EV and Harrier EV.
Many people know this, Tata Motors has held the top position in terms of sales in India's electric passenger car market since its inception. Now this domestic company has announced a new milestone in EV sales. So far they have sold more than 1.5 lakh electric cars in India. Tata has set this precedent as the country's first passenger car manufacturer.
Tata Motors has sold more than one and a half lakh EVs
Statistics show that Tata sold a total of 73,800 units of electric vehicles in the financial year 2023-24. In comparison, demand grew by 48% as the number stood at 50,000 units in FY2022-23. The company currently has four all-electric models in its portfolio. These are Tata Nexon EV, Tata Punch EV, Tata Tiago EV and Tata Tigor EV.
These Tata cars are priced between Tk 7.99 lakh to Tk 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently they have electric hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs in their portfolio. Soon the company is going to bring two more new electric cars. Tata is planning to launch Curvv EV and Tata Harrier EV in the market within the current financial year.
Tata Harrier EV can come in rear mounted motor and all wheel drive configurations. Tata Nexon EV and Tata Punch EV have recently achieved five-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP. Both models are able to offer the highest level of protection against any impact for child and adult passengers.
