Information about the much-awaited Xiaomi 15 smartphone series has been surfacing regularly for the past few months. Although nothing has been heard about this upcoming lineup from the officials of the company. As a result, it was not confirmed so far how many models will come under this series or what their names and features will be. But now the entire Xiaomi 15 series has been spotted listed in the IMEI certification site's database. Due to which information about the series handsets along with name, model number and possible regional availability has surfaced.
Xiaomi 15 series appeared on the IMEI certification site
On the IMEI certification site, the standard variant of the series i.e. Xiaomi 15 is listed with a total of three model numbers. Namely – 24129PN74G, 24129PN74I and 24129PN74C. The higher-end Xiaomi 15 Pro phone has a model number of 24101PNB7C.
Supposedly, the first four digits of the model number are likely to indicate the approximate launch date of the devices. If true, Xiaomi 15 Pro (24101PNB7C) model number will launch in October this year. In this case '24' is taken as year and '10' as month. Similarly, the standard Xiaomi 15 could debut in December 2024.
Xiaomi always launches the standard and pro variants of their flagship smartphone series together. But this year the company may be planning to change their marketing strategy.
Meanwhile, the regional availability of the upcoming smartphones has also been hinted at from their model numbers. For example, Xiaomi 15 Pro may be launched only in the Chinese market. Note that the predecessor Xiaomi 14 Pro's sales were limited to China last year. The Xiaomi 15 handset, on the other hand, will likely be announced in India and global markets apart from China.
Incidentally, another model named 'Xiaomi 15 Pro Ti Satellite' has also appeared in the IMEI database. It carries the model number 2410DPN6CC. In this regard, it is believed that the two letters 'Ti' in the name of the device indicate its titanium frame and the word 'Satellite' indicates support for satellite connectivity. It will likely come as a special variant of the Xiaomi 15 Pro smartphone. Moreover, the “CC” appearing at the end of the model number confirms that this too will be 'exclusive' in the Chinese market.
