HMD Pulse: HMD brings its first smartphone, has 50MP selfie camera, know the price

HMD, known for making Nokia phones, ended long speculation and launched the first smartphone with its own logo. The company has released three phones – HMD Pulse, Pulse+ and Pulse Pro. The new phones come with Gen 1 repairability, allowing users to use iFixit’s self-repair kit to fix issues with their device, such as battery replacement and display replacement. Let’s know the price, specifications and features of this new HMD Pulse series of handsets in detail.

Specifications and features of HMD Pulse Pro

The HMD Pulse Pro features a 6.65-inch HD+ display with 90 Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness support. The device is powered by Unisock T606 chipset for performance, coupled with 4GB / 6GB / 8GB RAM, 128GB in-built storage. Besides, it will get a microSD card slot for additional storage.

For photography, the rear panel of the HMD Pulse Pro features a dual-camera system with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. And there is a 50 megapixel selfie camera on the front of the phone. For security, the Pulse Pro includes a side-facing fingerprint scanner. It is available in color shades like Glacier Green, Black Ocean and Twilight Purple. Finally for power backup, the HMD Pulse Pro uses a large 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.

Specifications and features of HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse

Both the HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse have the same screen as the Pro model, Unisoc T606 chipset and 5,000 mAh battery. But instead of the 20 watt charging found in the Pro model, the Pulse+ and Pulse models offer 10 watt charging.

Also like the Pro variant, the HMD Pulse+ model also comes with 4GB/ 6GB/ 8GB RAM, 128GB in-built storage and a microSD card slot. In terms of photography, the phone houses a 50-megapixel primary camera with an LED flash on the rear panel and an 8-megapixel front camera on the front. The Pulse+ can be purchased in shades like Midnight Blue, Glacier Green and Apricot Crush.

On the other hand, the standard HMD Pulse offers 4 GB / 6 GB RAM, 64 GB storage and a microSD card slot. In terms of cameras, the phone houses a single 13-megapixel camera sensor on the rear panel and an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. It will be available in three color options – Meteor Black, Atoms Blue, and Dreamy Pink. All three phones in the HMD Pulse series run on Android 14 custom skin. The company promises two major OS upgrades and three years of security patch updates on them.

HMD Pulse Series Price and Availability

The top-end HMD Pulse Pro model has been launched in the European market at a price of 180 Euros (roughly Rs. 16,100). And HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse are priced at 160 Euros (roughly Rs. 14,500) and 140 Euros (roughly Rs. 12,500) respectively. Users must purchase iFixit’s self-repair kit separately.

Starting today, the HMD Pulse and Pulse+ phones can be purchased from the company’s official website However, the availability of the Pro variant is yet to be confirmed. HMD Pulse is also rumored to be rebranded as HMD Vibe in the US. However, there is no definite word yet on whether these phones will make it to the Indian market.
