The world’s famous smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has entered the competition to bring electric cars. Already their first EV, the SU7 has been showcased several times. The car has now started reaching the showroom. It is rumored that Xiaomi’s first electric car will be launched in China on March 28. But if you are expecting cars like smartphones to be launched at a price within the reach of the middle class, then you are wrong. Because the price of Xiaomi SU7 has been revealed before the official launch.
What will be the price of Xiaomi SU7 electric car?
Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun referred to the SU7 as a high performance EV model. The car was earlier claimed to offer a range of 1,200 km on a full charge. This car will be offered in two versions – Xiaomi SU7 Max and Xiaomi SU7 Standard. The first one was claimed to produce a maximum power of 673 hp and 838 Nm of torque. Whereas the output of the latter is 299 hp to 374 hp and 635 Nm.
SU7 has started arriving at various Xiaomi dealerships in China. The company’s CEO Jun hinted that their first electric sedan will be priced below 5,00,000 yuan or around Rs 57 lakh. In the electric car market, Xiaomi is trying to make its own place among various models of domestic and foreign companies.
Incidentally, Xiaomi is the fifth largest smartphone maker in China. However, they need to gain enough momentum to make a place in the electric car market, just as they know their own breed in smartphones. In this case, the company’s own cell-to-body or CTB technology will especially help. It is a battery replacement technology in cars.
