In a recent interview, Hyundai Motor India’s Chief Operating Officer Tarun Garg said that a total of 14,000 units of the Ioniq 5 model have been sold in the last 14 months. In other words, Hyundai is selling an average of 100 units per month. The car is priced at Rs 45.95 lakh (ex-showroom). He mentioned that the company has announced an investment of Rs 26,000 crore to increase the production capacity of the Chennai factory, localize new models and battery packs. As a result, the company believes that the price of battery electric vehicles will decrease from 2025.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 : Specifications

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 are based on the Electric Global Modular Platform or E-GMP architecture. It has a 72.6 kWh battery pack. An electric motor is present to transmit power to the wheels, producing 160 kW and 350 Nm of torque. A 350 kW DC First charging system can charge the battery from 19-80% in 18 minutes. Again, a 150 kW DC fast charger takes 21 minutes to charge the same amount. The company claims that the car offers a range of 631 km (ARAI certified) on a full charge.
