Maruti Suzuki is going to enter the world of electric cars this year with the launch of eVX. But do not stop at this one model. Therefore, the company announced to introduce another electric car in the middle of 2026. It will be an MPV model like the Artiga. Codenamed YMC. YMC will be built using eVX’s platform. The 27PL skateboard platform was developed by the Indo-Japanese company in collaboration with Toyota.

The skateboard platform is only used in making electric cars. The battery is connected to the floor. This platform can be extended or shortened in length by attaching and detaching the battery again. Hence 27PL is suitable for making different range of cars. Now let’s talk about the YMC Electric MPV. It will be available with eVX’s 40 kWh and 60 kWh battery packs.
A range of 550 km is available from the model with the larger battery pack. As a result, the fuel will be an ideal replacement for oil-powered vehicles. The number of battery recharging facilities in India is growing at a significant rate. There will be no surprises if the YMC MPV is launched as an electric variant of the company’s Ertiga.
The production ready model of the Maruti Suzuki EVX electric SUV is expected to make its debut in the international market in 2024. Where India may be launched early next year or earlier.
