The Hero Xoom 160 is rumored to be launching soon to shake up the Indian two-wheeler market. Many say it is coming to the Indian market this month i.e. March. However, no confirmation has been received from Hero MotoCorp in this regard. It is the company’s first maxi scooter. Let’s know the details of the model before the launch.
Hero Xoom 160: Styling
Xoom 160 brings adventure styling to Hero. The front apron is flanked by a long wind screen. There is also a pair of LED headlights at the front. Small bikes are seen under the headlights like adventure bikes. In terms of looks, the Xoom 160 is quite a maxi scooter. It has a central spine. Maxi styling is also present in the design of both sides.

The Xoom 160 is expected to come as Hero’s flagship model. There will be a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. There are also keyless ignition, fuel tank under the central spine, LED headlights and oil lights.
Hero Xoom 160: Hardware
Riding on an underbone chassis, the Xoom 160 features a telescope front fork and twin shock rear absorbers. 14 inch wheels will be accompanied by block pattern tires. For braking, front disc and rear drum brakes with ABS are present. The scooter has a curb weight of 141 kg.
Hero Xoom 160: Engine
Hero has developed a new liquid cooled engine. It is a 156 cc, single cylinder motor. Out of which the maximum power is 14 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 13.7 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Attached to it is CVT transmission. It lags behind Yamaha Aerox 155 in terms of power.
Hero Xoom 160: Launch and Price
The Hero Xoom 160 is likely to be launched in the Indian market within the next few weeks. Post-launch, it is expected to be priced around Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom). Its competitors are – Aprilia SXR 160, Yamaha Aerox 155 and the upcoming Yamaha Nmax 155.
