The Tecno Camon 30 lineup was recently showcased during the MWC 2024 tech show. And today this same series has been officially announced. A total of four models come under the said lineup namely – Camon 30, Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G and Camon 30 Premier 5G. Out of which the last two handsets are powered by a more powerful chipset i.e. MediaTek Dimension 8200 Ultra. Today we will specifically discuss these two top-end models. In this case, as features, they have – 144 Hz refresh rate AMOLED display, 50 megapixel selfie shooter with dual LED flash, triple rear camera setup, dual stereo speaker system supported by Dolby Atmos, powerful battery with 70 W fast charging support. The Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G and Camon 30 Pro 5G smartphones feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display panel that supports 144Hz refresh rate. While the ‘Premier’ variant supports the LTPO display feature, the Pro model lacks this feature. And the Premier model’s touchscreen offers 1.5K (1264×2780 pixels) resolution and the Pro version offers Full HD Plus (1080×2436 pixels) resolution.
Both the smartphones have MediaTek Dimension 8200 Ultra chipset to deliver good performance. As an operating system, both models have Android 14 based HiOS 14 custom skin pre-loaded. However, the difference will be noticeable in terms of storage capacity. For example, the Camon 30 Pro 5G comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. On the other hand, 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage will be available in the Premier version. Not only that, it will also support up to 12GB virtual RAM feature.
Now let’s talk about the camera department. The Tecno Camon 30 Premier and Camon 30 Pro 5G phones feature a 50-megapixel selfie camera with dual LED flash and autofocus. However, the rear camera unit of the two handsets is different. For example, both the phones will get a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS support and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide secondary lens. But the third sensor is unique. In this case, a 2-megapixel depth sensor will be available as the third camera on the back of the Pro variant. Whereas the Premier version – offers a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 70mm focal length and 60x hybrid zoom. Besides, this top-end model comes with the company’s own PolarAce imaging system. At the same time, HDR also supports features like a dedicated ISP for AI noise reduction, 4K Ultra Night Vision video and accurate skin tone rendering for video recording.
Talking about other features, these two handsets from the Tecno brand – offer the benefits of an IR blaster, in-screen fingerprint scanner and dual stereo speaker system supported by Dolby Atmos. Finally, the Tecno Camon 30 Premier and Camon 30 Pro 5G smartphones use a 5,000mAh capacity battery, which supports 70W fast charging.
