Do you have an older iPhone? Wake up customer! This time Apple will pay 29 thousand rupees

Everyone has to spend thousands of rupees while buying an iPhone. But once again the users of these premium half-eaten Apple logo smartphones are going to get big bucks from the company! Because, the iPhone manufacturer Apple Company has decided to give 290 crore rupees to its smartphone users at the beginning of the year. In fact, Apple has once again agreed to pay $35 million (about Rs. 290 crores in Indian prices) to settle an iPhone case in the US. In this case some iPhone users can get up to 349 dollars i.e. about 29,000 rupees. However, it should be remembered that only selected older iPhone users will get this money as compensation, and some conditions will have to be met.

Who will receive compensation from Apple?

Individuals who resided/used to own an Apple iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus between September 16, 2016 and January 3, 2023, are only entitled to compensation from the company (read the price of a midrange Android phone)’. will be received as ‘settlement’. That’s because the two models mentioned at the time had audio issues that Apple later said were actually problems with a chip inside the phone.

In that case, according to the company’s website, if you complain to Apple about your iPhone in those 7 years or charge the company for repair/replacement, you will get $349 under the case settlement. In this case, those who have problems with the phone and did not pay for it to be repaired may be able to get up to $125. But the point is that Indians will not get this unexpected benefit! If you lived between 2016-2023 and feel eligible for compensation, you can try to claim it by emailing info@smartphoneaudiosettlement.com before 3rd June.

What did Apple say about compensation?

It should be noted that 5 years ago in 2019, people from different states of America filed a case against Apple regarding the iPhone audio problem. They claim that the company broke customer protection laws and did not keep its promises about the phone. Although Apple has since settled the matter, they insist that the company did nothing wrong. In this case, the court also did not decide whether Apple or the plaintiff, who is correct.
