There have been many speculations about Mahindra’s five-door lifestyle SUV Thar for a long time. This time it has been claimed through a source that it can enter the Indian market in February itself. Mahindra is hopeful that the 5-door model will gain more popularity as the three-door Thar is dominating the market. It is reported that the length of the upcoming model will be more than four meters. The company’s lineup will slot between the Scorpio N and the flagship XUV700. It is estimated that the price of Mahindra Thar 5-door may start from Rs. 14 lakhs.
Mahindra Thar 5-door may launch in February
Earlier the dashboard image of Mahindra Thar 5-door was leaked. Instead of the black version, it featured a brown interior theme. It also has a larger space allocated for the infotainment screen. However, the rest of the layout is identical to the three-door version.
Design changes include a redesigned front grille, new front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheel design, new LED tail lights on the five-door version of the Thar. It is also speculated that the Thar 5-door might get a single pane sunroof.
The vehicle will be offered with 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine options for power going forward. The five-door version will be based on the same ladder frame chassis as before. But it has the second generation chassis. Which is also used in Scorpio N.
