Many foreign companies are virtually unable to attract business in India’s potential two-wheeler market. This time Britain’s Norton Motorcycles (Norton Motorcycles) is going to enter India under the hands of the domestic company TVS (TVS). The company was acquired by TVS in 2020. However, no official message has been received from the organizations regarding coming to this country. In fact recently in India, Norton filed a trademark called Combat. Speculations are rife, which could be a cruiser motorcycle. As a result, it is expected that the British company is going to enter this country this time. Sources claim that the model made by TVS is being brought to compete with Royal Enfield, Hero-Harley, and Bajaj-Triuph bikes.
TVS trademarked the Norton Combat name in India
The Norton Combat is believed to be a new cruiser style motorcycle. The development of which is carried out by TVS Motor Company. This is the first time the two companies are making a model for the country with the Norton badge. Meanwhile, TVS filed a patent for the new two-wheeler design in the country a few days back.
A cruiser motorcycle is seen in the leaked images. It features a round headlamp, wide handlebar, USD fork and thick rubber. The motorcycle is expected to be powered by a 500 cc air-well cooled engine.
Speculations also suggest that TVS is developing a new twin-cylinder engine. Which will compete with Royal Enfield’s 650cc models. It can produce around 47 bhp of power and 52 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, in the world of medium weight motorcycles, TVS is planning to bring new models after seeing the launch of Harley Davidson X440 and Triumph Speed 400 recently. Because their Ronin bike could not create a special response in the respective segment.
